Frank Schaaf

Frank Schaaf is a partner with Ekelmans & Meijer Advocaten. Clients call on him for advice and assistance in legal proceedings relating to a wide range of aspects of insurance and liability law. He focuses in particular on civil-law aspects of construction law. He is an arbitrator and secretary for two arbitration tribunals in the building industry.

For the past 25 years, Frank has assisted insurance companies and insured parties in professional and company liability cases, both giving advice and conducting legal proceedings. These cases sometimes involve the building industry, for example when providing assistance to architects and structural engineers, or when insurance products are involved that are important to the building trade, such as contractors’ all risks insurance and assembly insurance. He also gives a great deal of attention to professional liability and disputes with respect to fire and recourse. Whichever area of expertise is involved, the keywords for the working relationship are experience, a practical approach and a pleasant manner. In addition to his work as a lawyer, Frank publishes articles, is a member of the Vereniging voor Bouwrecht/Bouwrechtadvocaten, lectures at the Instituut voor Bouwrecht and acts from time to time as an arbitrator or secretary in arbitration proceedings.
